He's been hinting towards rain. Rain was going to come. Refreshing was not too far off.
Praise Him, I'm starting to feel it.
Burns need moisture to heal. And this week, I started feeling balms on my soul: A song at the exercise studio about Him loving us still. A devotional recently read I had had tucked in my journal for months, reminders of still staying in His presence. Physical rain this week, whispers of Spring coming.
I'm so grateful. Just when you think you've been forgotten, just when the thirst is at its worst, He sends rain.
But first, He may send more fire. Not the purifying kind that burns flesh like I have been experiencing, but His Holy Spirit Fire. I've been studying Elijah and they had been in such a drought. But before He sent rain, He sent fire on Elijah's sacrifice. He knew what they wanted - thirst quenched. Desires met. But He also need what they needed - Himself, the Living Water
"On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, 'Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.' (When he said, 'living water, he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory)." John 7:37-39
I'm on the altar, God. Consume me. Then bring rain, cool and healing, Your Spirit.
I'm abiding for as long as it takes.
