WAITING WELL AT CHRISTMAS.

400 years is a long time without a Word. Without…anything from the Lord. Silence.

No prophets, no comfort, not even a judgement to show His presence. Imagine the thoughts of His people,

“Did you forget us? Did we stray so far to be forsaken?”

And the worst,

“Do you even care?”

But then dawn! Light! JOY! A baby in a manger marked the Word, a comfort, Who came not to judge but to bring all to Himself.

Waiting well

There is such worship in the waiting because the trust required to wait well means there is a relationship deeper than circumstance. I can choose to wait this Advent season with joy because I know He came before, all those years ago. And He came for me. And He’s coming again. . And if it feels like the waiting is unkind, know that not unlike Christmas, the end of the waiting will be worth celebrating for generations when His light dawns. Amen!
