As I have mentioned here, I am the CEO of a pretty incredible organization. It's been a heart dream of mine for years to provide sustainable housing solutions and a fresh start to pregnant women facing housing instability. That dream has come true in The Haven.
Ever since Clarity started The Haven, I’ve been taking pictures of our renovation process to track our progress. But sometimes, on special days, I would take a picture of my shoes. It was my simple way of putting a stake in the ground, saying:
“With the Lord’s help, this is how far we’ve come.”
I did it on our first demo day, when we pulled up the kitchen vinyl, when we had our community open house, when we hired staff, when we opened our phone lines for potential residents to call…
This week I took another shoe picture. We anticipate being able to accept our first resident very soon. And I stand in awe. In awe of how far we’ve come. In awe of the transformational power of the gospel.
But mostly I stand in awe of how obedience to the Lord’s dreams leads to amazing things. When I started out with my first picture, I couldn’t see this destination. But I trusted that He did and that He would see it to completion.
And we're here. It's happening. Now.
When He speaks, listen. When He leads, follow. Even though you won’t see the end result, walk with Him. Because when you walk with Him, I promise it’ll be more than you could even ask or imagine (Eph. 3:20).
